Open and View

GoFiler can open PDF documents for viewing using an Adobe Reader plug-in or for conversion to HTML using our PDF View edit window. Once opened in PDF View, documents can be quickly prepared for conversion using our easy markup tools.

Zoning and Export

The software can automatically identify and mark images, text, tables, rules, and other elements in your PDF using zone tools. Users can also manually adjust zones prior to exporting documents with a variety of options to control images, pages, and hidden text.

Font Management Tools

Fonts and substitutions can be managed directly in GoFiler with a font management system that enables users to explore the fonts within a PDF document and create substitutions upon export to HTML.

Step One: Choose your base software.

GoFiler has two options to start building your custom software. The formats you need to file will determine which option to choose. GoFiler+ contains support for HTML editing as well as collaboration tools.

The SEC has a specific subset of HTML that is allowed when filing documents to the EDGAR Next system. EDGAR HTML has certain restrictions (such as limited linking, styles, and no active content). GoFiler is focused on document publishing and preparation with a focus on EDGAR but has the capabilities to be used for other purposes. Our HTML editor is designed to be universal and create clean HTML code that can be opened by other applications without extensive processing.

Yes. GoFiler opens PDFs created from most software, with options to open a PDF strictly for viewing (using an Adobe Reader plug-in) or for conversion to HTML (using our proprietary PDF View edit window).

Yes. With GoFiler’s export options, you can choose to include or omit text and other elements that are located outside of the visible page in the PDF.

Yes. GoFiler can be set to substitute fonts during the PDF to HTML conversion process. GoFiler’s font management tools display all the fonts that are being used within a PDF document to allow users to make substitutions on a per-font basis.

Yes. GoFiler converts both text and images. Images can be converted as JPG or GIF with additional options to handle compression (if applicable) and rasterization.
