Step One: Choose your base software.

GoFiler has two options to start building your custom software. The formats you need to file will determine which option to choose. GoFiler+ contains support for HTML editing as well as collaboration tools.

Yes, you can file for as many issuers and reporting owners as you need, provided that you have the proper authorization or delegation required by EDGAR Next to submit filings on their behalf. The cost of the software does not increase with the numbers of filings performed or the number of reporting owners.

Yes. GoFiler supports creating both a composite (EDGAR form data + ownership document) project as well as the ownership document alone.

Yes. The base software you choose (GoFiler or GoFiler+) determines whether you can create HTML documents for your exhibits using our Page View feature. GoFiler provides support only for text documents (including code), while GoFiler+ contains support for HTML document conversion and editing.

Yes. With GoFiler and the Ownership Forms module, you can file an unlimited number of filings, including amendments, for EDGAR Forms 3, 4, and 5. Amendments can be created from scratch or users can quickly transform a previous filing to an amendment using GoFiler’s Change Form feature.

Yes. With GoFiler, EDGAR filers do not need a separate authentication app or software to log into the EDGAR system using their Login.gov account. GoFiler can act as your authenticator app. It has tools to generate, store, and provide EDGAR with your TOTP code so you can submit filings seamlessly without leaving the software.

Only certain functions in the software, such as the EDGAR submission tools or the issuer information look-up, require a connection to the internet. With GoFiler, you can work offline at any time and connect only when necessary.
