Scott Theis Joins Mark Gruba for an Interview on Why Rochester Is the Ideal Setting for Novaworks
On December 3, 2014, Novaworks’ President and CEO, Scott Theis, joined Mark Gruba for his Why ROC segment on News 8 at Sunrise. Why ROC is a short segment on WROC in Rochester, NY that highlights local businesses and discusses why Rochester is such a great setting for business.
“[Rochester] is a very good place for talent,” Scott says. “It’s a good pool, a good place to live.”
There’s a great amount of young talent coming out of RIT, UR and other local colleges in Rochester. Novaworks has long stood by a “guerilla” approach to EDGAR software development, using a small team of developers to tackle changes in SEC rules and regulations, which means the company is constantly on the look out for developers, IT staff, and support team members that can contribute and excel in the fast-paced environment of SEC compliance.
Two of the company’s co-founders are graduates of RIT and the University of Rochester, and other employees have attended RIT and other local colleges. Novaworks has also tapped into the pool of talented young software developers in the area by partnering with RIT and its co-op program.
