On July 1st, the SEC’s Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA) released updated US capital‑market statistics and new interactive data visualizations. The revision includes expanded information on asset‑backed securities (ABS), municipal advisors, and additional historical data for ABS and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) issuances.
DERA also refreshed data on IPOs, follow‑on offerings, corporate bonds, Regulation D activity, and other market participants, noting that in the first quarter of 2026, activity among those entities showed year-over-year growth. More specifically:
- IPO activity increased to 99 deals raising over $22 billion, up from 84 IPOs raising $11.8 billion in Q1 2025. The change represents an 86% rise in proceeds raised.
- Follow‑on offerings increased to 264 transactions raising $44.2 billion, compared with 250 offerings raising $40.4 billion the prior year.
- The SEC’s interactive market‑data platform now includes time series charts, distribution visuals, and geographic heat maps, all available for public download.
DERA noted that these tools help investors and market observers follow trends across the markets the SEC regulates.
