The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) recently warned market participants that scammers are sending phishing emails pretending to be from the agency, including fake payment instruction updates. The agency reminds filers that genuine FERC emails come only from official government channels and use email addresses ending in “.gov.” Official payment information can be found on the FERC website.
Should you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from FERC and cannot verify that it is legitimate, report it to FERC’s Office of the Secretary at ferconlinesupport@ferc.gov.
