XBRL US to Host Webinar Standards for Regulators – Governance & Taxonomy Maintenance
The webinar will discuss the importance of the following:
- establishing a good governance structure that guarantees all stakeholders are involved, resulting in enduring high quality data standards
- promoting the interest of a support and maintenance program to acclimate to changes in reporting requirements and technical advances in the marketplace
Participants will learn how the FASB XBRL taxonomy team cooperates with the FASB accounting standards team to model changes in reporting requirements and coordinate new releases effectively, with the least amount of disruption to the reporting supply chain. The SEC requires each public company to report its financial statements quarterly using the US GAAP Taxonomy, which FASB supports and maintains. FASB is able to help 6,000 public companies complete financial statements every quarter because its governance, taxonomy development, and maintenance process allow them to concurrently update US GAAP accounting standards and technical data standards. Attendees will also learn how the program has developed and improved over the past decade.
The virtual workshop will feature presentations from the following industry leaders:
- Donna Johaneman, Senior Project Manager, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
- Lou Rohman, Senior Manager, Deloitte
- David Shaw, Senior Project Manager, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
- Scott Theis, Chair, XBRL US Domain Steering Committee; CEO, Novaworks LLC
This webcast is free to attend but registration is required. Visit the event’s webpage for registration instructions. Once registered, further event details will be sent with confirmation.
