SEC Announces Virtual 2021 Small Business Forum
The SEC annually hosts this forum in accordance with the Small Business Investment Incentive Act of 1980. The forum is an event where members of the public and private sectors gather to develop suggestions for policy impacting emerging businesses and their investors. To promote more inclusive and organized discussions at this year’s event, participants are encouraged to submit comments and policy recommendations prior to the webinar. Following each forum, the SEC submits a report to Congress that includes an outline of the proceedings and recommendations for changes to improve capital formation. The 2020 Forum Report summarizing the proceedings and recommendations of participants was released on Sept. 14, 2020.
The forum’s website will be updated if there are changes or additions made to details on the agenda, speakers, registration, or FAQs leading up to the event. There is no fee to attend, and the conference will be open for the public via webcast. Registration is required in advance, and once interested parties are registered, instructions will be emailed on how to participate and how to submit feedback and policy recommendations to be explored at the live event.
