XBRL US Opens Registration for GovFin 2023: Empowering Governments, Modernizing Reporting

XBRL US will host a conference this November in Washington, DC to discuss the passage of legislation related to the Financial Data Transparency Act (FDTA) and the Grants Reporting Efficiency and Transparency (GREAT) Act. XBRL US will address the ways governments can learn about data standards and how they increase efficacy and modernize financial reporting. FERC Adopts Credit Risk Management Rule

On June 15th, the FERC approved a final rule intended to enhance credit risk management throughout the organized wholesale electric power markets. The FERC’s adoption of the final rule will allow electric power market operators to share credit-related information with other electric power market operators so they can better assess the credit risks of market participants. On May 18th, the FERC issued the 2023 Summer Energy Market and Electric Reliability Assessment, the report that provides the agency’s outlook for energy markets and electric reliability during the period from June 2023 to September 2023. The 2023 Summer Assessment is jointly prepared by the FERC’s Office of Energy Policy and Innovation’s Division of Energy Market Assessments and the Office of Electric Reliability’s Division of Engineering and Logistics. FERC Announces Adoption of Incentive Rate Treatment for Cybersecurity Investments

On April 20, 2023, the FERC approved a final rule that provides incentive-based rate treatment for utilities making certain voluntary cybersecurity investments. Under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, Congress directed the FERC to update its regulations to establish incentive-based rate treatments, encouraging utility companies to invest in advanced cybersecurity technology. The act also directs the FERC to participate in cybersecurity information-sharing programs, which would protect and benefit consumers.
