The SEC has announced that the EDGAR Beta environment provided for filers as part of the EDGAR Next launch will remain open for the foreseeable future. The beta environment originally was set to close on December 19, 2025, but will remain open to allow the EDGAR filing community to preview and test all upcoming EDGAR updates. Filers still have time to enroll in EDGAR Next through December 19, 2025 through open enrollment, which allows existing EDGAR filers to transition to EDGAR Next with their current EDGAR login information. Enrollment in EDGAR Next, which is available on the dashboard of the EDGAR Filer Management website, is now required to file to the EDGAR System. On October 1, 2025, fee rates applicable to most securities transactions will be set at $138.10 per million dollars pursuant to the Order Making Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Adjustments to Registration Fee Rates. This represents a decrease from $153.10 per million dollars during the previous fiscal year. The new fee rate will be applied to the registration of securities under Section 6(b) of the Securities Act of 1933, the repurchase of securities under Section 13(e) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and proxy solicitations and specified tender offers under Section 14(g) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The SEC has released EDGAR 25.2.2, which incorporates requirements for EDGAR Next, the SEC's security, access, and account management improvements made to the EDGAR system. Enrollment in and compliance with EDGAR Next is now necessary to file on the EDGAR system. To be in compliance, filing entities must be enrolled in EDGAR Next by December 19, 2025, or have had their Form ID application for EDGAR access granted on or after March 24, 2025.
