SEC Grants Exemptive Relief from Inline XBRL Requirements for CCO Reports and Selected Forms

In December 2024, the SEC adopted rules that required several filings to be submitted electronically and in Inline XBRL. These requirements applied to specific forms and items, including portions of Form CA‑1, Form 1, Form X‑17A‑5 Part III, Form 17‑H, and the CCO report. In its September 11, 2026 order, the SEC provides exemptive relief from the Inline XBRL requirement for those filings, excluding the audited financial statement exhibits in Form CA‑1 and Form 1. SEC Provides Preview of September 2026 EDGAR Release 26.3

On August 14th, the EDGAR Business Office issued a preview of the upcoming updates to the EDGAR system capabilities, technical specifications, and the draft EDGAR Filer Manual prior to the approaching EDGAR software release. The release is currently scheduled for September 14, 2026, and filers may review and test the expected EDGAR system changes in the EDGAR Beta Environment beginning August 31, 2026. SEC Cancels June 2026 EDGAR Release

On June 1st, the SEC canceled EDGAR software release 26.2, which was planned for June 15, 2026. Draft EDGAR Filer Manual revisions and draft Technical Specifications related to the release that previously was published on May 15th are no longer relevant and have been removed from the SEC’s site.
