XBRL US to Discuss the SEC’s Quarterly versus Semiannual Rule Proposal

XBRL US will host a webinar to discuss the benefits and disadvantages of quarterly versus semiannual reporting, and the implications of the SEC’s Semiannual Reporting rule proposal. The webinar will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, and will begin at 3:00 p.m. Eastern.

Juneteenth

The SEC will be closed Friday, June 19th, in observance of Freedom Day. The EDGAR System will not receive, process or accept filings on this day. Filings with a due date of Friday, June 19th, will be due the following business day, Monday, June 22nd. The FERC will also be closed in observation of Freedom Day. eForms will accept filings submitted on June 19th.

SEC Proposes Overturning Regulation NMS Rules 611 and 610(e)

On June 11th, the SEC proposed amendments to rescind Rules 611 (the Order Protection Rule) and 610(e) (the Access Rule’s locked/crossed market provision) of Regulation NMS under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The rule proposal is designed to streamline market structure, mitigate costs for market participants, and support competition and innovation, thus impacting the development of equity markets. SEC Adopts Joint Data Standards Rules Under FDTA

On June 8th, the SEC approved rules that establish joint data standards under the Financial Data Transparency Act of 2022 (FDTA). The rulemaking establishes technical standards for data submitted to certain financial regulatory agencies, making financial data more accessible, uniform, and useful to the public. The joint data standards would make it easier for financial institutions to file reports across multiple agencies and help regulators carry out the SEC’s oversight functions with greater efficacy. SEC Cancels June 2026 EDGAR Release

On June 1st, the SEC canceled EDGAR software release 26.2, which was planned for June 15, 2026. Draft EDGAR Filer Manual revisions and draft Technical Specifications related to the release that previously was published on May 15th are no longer relevant and have been removed from the SEC’s site. SEC Staff to Hold Investor Advisory Committee Meeting

The SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee will hold an open meeting via webcast on the SEC’s site that will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET. The meeting is free for the public to attend. The meeting will cover committee matters, including subcommittee reports and approval of previous meeting minutes.
